Aditya Singh Rajput, an actor and model, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his Mumbai residence on Monday. Shortly after his death, various media reports speculated that his cause of death was a drug overdose. While Aditya’s autopsy reports are still confidential, his mother broke her silence and criticized the reports.

Usha Rajput, who arrived in Mumbai from Delhi on Monday night, told the Hindustan Times that she had been receiving calls and messages from people asking her about the authenticity of excessive drug use as the cause of death. She claimed: “By making such unverified claims, you are smearing the name of my son and my family. This is a cruel thing to do.”
He further added: “On Monday afternoon, I noticed that all my chat history with my son had been deleted. Not being that tech savvy, I called him around 2:15 pm to ask what could have happened. He told me there was something wrong with whatsapp and he would text me again. However, he did not say anything about being wrong.
She recounted receiving a phone call from a close friend of Aditya’s on Monday night, who informed her of his untimely passing. She said: “I panicked and was shaking; I had to call a neighbor to pack my bags and help me book a ticket to Mumbai.”
Mumbai police are investigating the matter and recorded the statements of three people: her maid, a private doctor and a watchman.
