On Monday, megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to his Instagram account and shared an image to express his gratitude towards a stranger who gave him a bike ride. However, hours later, a section of Internet users began to denounce the Bollywood actor for violating traffic regulations by not wearing a helmet. In fact, after a group of Twitter users tagged the Mumbai Police to respond on the matter, the official handler stated that they had shared the concern with the trafficking branch.
Amitabh Bachchan Claims He Didn’t Break Any Traffic Rules After Mumbai Police Reacted To His Footage Of A Helmetless Ride; he says: “I was playing”
Now, a day after the incident, Big B has written a blog post to clarify the photo and claims that he has not broken any traffic rules. In his post, the actor wrote, “It’s Sunday… Formal permission was obtained for filming in a lane on Ballard Estate… Permission was requested for Sunday because all offices are closed and there is no public or traffic. A lane in the region blocked by permission from the police to shoot… the lane is barely 30-40 meters. The dress I’m wearing is my costume for the movie. And… I’m just joking getting on the bike, from a crew member… Not even moving anywhere, but giving the impression that I traveled to save time… (sic)”.
The veteran actor further added: “But yeah, I would do it if there was a punctuality issue…and wear a helmet and follow all the rules and regulations of the traffic guidelines…I’m not the only one doing this…I had seen Akshay Kumar doing this to get to a place on time…he wore a helmet etc on his security person’s bike…no one could recognize him…and he was quick and efficient…and worked well…thank you everyone for your concern and your care and love and your spanking and trolling (sic)”
He signed off saying: “And I’m sorry, people, for causing concern and giving the misconception of breaking traffic rules… I didn’t… loved you all.”
Coming to the professional front, the 80-year-old actor was last seen in uunchai. He has a lot of big budget projects in his kitty including Project K with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
