Yash Raj Films (YRF) has made it clear that it has ambitions to produce some of the most groundbreaking and disruptive digital content. Under the banner YRF Entertainment, the company is now announcing its third project titled vijay 69a quirky everyday life movie for OTT, starring Anupam Kher.
Anupam Kher to Headline a Vijay 69 Life Movie for YRF Entertainment
vijay 69 will narrate the life of a sixty-year-old man, played by Anupam, who decides to compete in a triathlon contest at the age of 69! It will be directed by Akshay Roy, who previously directed Meri Pyaari Bindu with YRF. She has also worked in acclaimed films like Mira Nair. the namesakeAamir Khan’s directorial debut Par Taare Zameen and Deepa Mehta Water as Assistant Director.
Vijay 69 is being produced by Maneesh Sharma, a local YRF producer, who previously directed Baaja Baaraat Band and produced Dum Laga Ke Haisha & Sui Dhaaga: made in India. He is currently directing the upcoming YRF Spy Universe offering. tiger 3 Starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
A month ago, YRF Entertainment announced its second OTT program, a crime thriller titled mandala murders! Created and directed by Mardaani 2’s Gopi Puthran, the edge-of-seat animator will star Vaani Kapoor as the lead, with Vaibhav Raj Gupta co-starring. He has been cast as the main lead for the first time after his brilliant performance in Gullak! Manan Rawat, who previously worked as an associate director on many YRF films, will co-direct the series.
YRF’s OTT list also includes the long-awaited the railway men based on the deadly 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy. This series features R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu and Babil Khan in the lead roles and is a tribute to the brave railway workers who saved dozens of lives on this grim night of devastation and horror.
