One of the most popular police dramas on Indian television, CID has given us some memorable performances and characters. However, recently the show’s team mourned the loss of its co-producer Pradeep Uppoor, who recently breathed his last. Shivaji Satam, who has been associated with the show for over two years and is also popularly known as ACP Pradyuman, took to social media to mourn the loss of his ‘friend of his’ and penned a heartfelt note as a tribute to he.
CID Star Shivaji Satam Writes A Touching Note To Producer Pradeep Uppoor After His Passing Away
Reports state that Pradeep Uppoor was diagnosed with cancer and was in Singapore when he left for his heavenly abode. Following that, Shivaji Satam took to Instagram to share a photo and captioned it, saying, “Pradeep Uppoor, (CID’s creator, mainstay)…..an ever smiling, honest and straightforward dear friend, magnanimously generous to the core… …a long, long, wonderful chapter of my life comes to an end with your departure Boss… love you and miss you friend.”
Following the message, many fans and colleagues also shared their condolence messages on the platform. Popular TV actress Raymon Kakar, who has also appeared in a few episodes of the show, dropped a message saying, “Rest in peace.” Chak De India actress Tanya Abrol, who played the crucial member of the CID team for a time, also posted saying, “Even if I saw him only a few times. This saddens me to the core. May your journey ahead be a peaceful one, Mr Uppoor. Om shanti”.
Narendra Gupta, popularly known as Dr. Salunkhe, also expressed his condolences saying, “This is such shocking news…I too had a long…Really, very long relationship with him. What a wonderful person he was…REST IN PEACE PRADEEP BHAI…TODAY I LOST A PART OF MY LIFE.” Janhvi Chheda, who played Deputy Inspector Shreya, said, “He always received him with a big smile and kindness. He will be missed immensely. May he rest in peace.” Hrishikesh Pandey, who played the role of Inspector Abhimanyu, added: “Personal loss will always miss you Mr. RIP.”
For the inexperienced, CID was one of the longest running shows on Indian television and aired on Sony Entertainment. While the show’s inception began in 1998, its final episode aired in 2018. Apart from ACP Pradyuman and Dr. Salunkhe, popular characters on the show included Daya played by Dayanand Shetty and Abhijeet played by Aditya Srivastava.
