After the critically acclaimed paglaitStarring Sanya Malhotra in the title role, Guneet Monga has announced another film with the film’s director Umesh Bist under his Sikhya Entertainment banner.
After Pagglait, starring Sanya Malhotra, Guneet Monga will shoot another film with director Umesh Bist.
Not much is known about the film, which is yet to be titled. Speaking about signing Bist back, Monga said in a statement: “Umesh is a prolific storyteller who has a deep and delicate understanding of human emotions, which is the USP of him. That is why Pagglait’s moving and extraordinary story touched the hearts of so many people. This is Sikhya’s second collaboration with Umesh Bist.”
Released in 2021 on Netflix, paglait he also starred in Sheeba Chaddha, Nakul Roshan, Shruti Sharma, Ashlesha Thakur, Sayani Gupta among others. The film was about a girl, played by Sanya, who is widowed only a few months after her marriage. But contrary to the atmosphere of loss that surrounds her, she doesn’t feel sad one bit despite the untimely death of her husband.
Meanwhile, Sikhya Entertainment’s documentary short film the elephant whispererswhich is also on Netflix, is headed for 95he Oscar. Reacting to the selection of the film, Monga had told the Hindustan Times earlier this year: “It’s absolutely surreal. Thank you very much, more than anything else. In fact, I got married and booked my honeymoon in places where I had no network. In fact, I was eight hours late to even find out we were shortlisted. First, the shortlist came to me as a beautiful and wonderful surprise. I am very grateful to be nominated and to be in the top five in the world. Let’s see if we get to the top.”
