Irrfan Khan’s unreleased film The song of the scorpions is set to open as his latest film later this month in theaters on April 28. The film will be released specifically on the week of the third anniversary of the late actor’s death, which is April 29. The song of the scorpions is directed by Anup Singh, who had previously directed Irrfan in Qissa: The Story of a Lonely Ghost.

Sharing more about the film, a statement from the creators read: “The late actor plays a camel trader in this twisted love story of revenge and the redemptive power of song. Golshifteh Farahani stars as Nooran, a fiercely independent tribal woman, who is learning the ancient healing art of scorpion song from her grandmother, Zubeida, played by Waheeda Rehman. According to local legend, the only cure for certain death after a scorpion sting is the song of the scorpions.”
Sharing his thoughts on the release of his late friend’s film, Anup Singh said: “The film is about choice – you can choose to breathe out the poison you inhale or sing a love song that heals rather than harms. It is an important film given the times we live in. Irrfan passionately believed in her and I’m glad people can see her soon. It is an emotional moment for me and for the whole team. I hope this screening of the film brings healing to Irrfan’s family and to all of us who love Irrfan.”
Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman of Panorama Studios, which is releasing the film, added: “Irrfan is one of the most beloved actors around the world. He touched many lives through his cinematic journey and those who knew him will know that he was a man with a heart of gold. As a studio, we work with him on movies. Sunday.
