Bollywood actor Jaideep Ahlawat, who has worked on projects like Raazi, Paatal Lok and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar among others, was seen most recently in an action hero starring opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. However, the movie didn’t do well at the box office in December 2022, but it found a new life on Netflix. Ahlawat has said that he felt angry about this and thought it was wrong that it did not do well at the box office.
Jaideep Ahlawat felt bad about An Action Hero’s failure at the box office: ‘I felt yeh galat hai’
When asked if the film was not given due credit, Jaideep Ahlawat told Indian Express, “Yes, I definitely feel that way. I also feel a little bad for Anirudh (Iyer), he’s a first-time director and he’s an amazing filmmaker and an amazing human being. So I felt a little bad for him, the movie too and for me, I felt yeh galat hai.”
He said: “And then when the movie came out on OTT, everyone saw it and loved it. I also felt a little angry. People (after seeing it on OTT) wrote how they wish they had seen the movie in theaters. Everyone who saw it in theaters or on OTT loved the movie. I have not come across anyone who has said yeh kya bakwaas film hai (what nonsense is this). It feels weird, I was like yeh samajh nahi aaya aise kyun hua (don’t know what went wrong). It was a Bollywood masala movie with so many things going on. There were so many factors in it, so many little social issues that were addressed in the movie. We told the story in a good way, but it showed yeh sab aapke aas paas ho raha hai (this is all happening in your immediate environment).”
