Prime Video today announced the streaming world premiere of the Kannada action drama cabzaa. Directed and produced by R. Chandru and co-produced by Anand Pandit, the film also features a cameo appearance by Shiva Rajkumar and background music by Ravi Basrur. Prime members in India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide can stream the film from April 14, in Kannada along with Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi dubs.
Kabzaa Starring Upendra, Kichcha Sudeepa and Shriya Saran to Stream on Prime Video
Beginning in 1942, before the independence of India, cabzaa tells the story of a simple man, who due to circumstances, becomes the most feared gangster in the country in the following years. Arkeshwara (Upendra), the younger son of a slain freedom fighter, who also loses his older brother to violence, experiences a tumultuous emotional past and present. Family losses unleash a menacing fury in him as he goes on a rampage of revenge, ultimately making him the feared and undisputed king of the underworld.
Before the theatrical release of cabzaa On March 17, the producer of the film, Anand Pandit, spoke about the film, saying, “The premise of the film is very interesting. It is a period thriller that begins just before independence and covers many critical points in the lives of the protagonists. The sensational action of the movie has never been seen before and will surprise everyone. Add to the mix, the star power of Upendra who returns to the big screen after a short hiatus, Kichcha Sudeepa who has a huge following across India and of course Shriya Saran who has found success in Hindi and several regional languages, and you have all the makings of a blockbuster.”
Besides Nawab Shah, Murali Sharma, Suneel Puranik, Sudha, B Suresha, Posani Murali Krishna and others, cabzaa it also starred Shriya Saran, Murali Sharma, Danish Akthar Saifi, John Kokken and Anup Revana. AJ Shetty shot the film and Ravi Basrur composed the music.
