Readers will know that Bhushan Kumar announced the next film in the popular Aashiqui romance franchise with Kartik Aaryan in the lead, shortly after the tremendous success of Bhool Bhulaiya 2. However, with the makers yet to announce a leading lady for the same, reports of the film being shelved began to circulate. But now, sources close to the film have confirmed that Aashiki 3 in fact it is happening and it is expected to hit the floors this year.
Kartik Aaryan meets Anurag Basu; quashes rumors that Aashiqui 3 would be archived
Not too long ago, Kartik Aaryan took to Instagram to advertise his work on Satyaprem Ki Katha. After finishing most of the shooting, the actor has returned to the city to focus on his other films. The actor also took some time to meet with the director of Aashiki 3, Anurag Basu and the film’s producer Bhushan Kumar at the T-Series office today, quashing reports that the film was shelved. In fact, a source close to the production company confirmed the details about the film saying, “Rumors that the film will be shelved are unsubstantiated. And yes, Kartik and Anurag have met to discuss the next step in Aashiqui 3. They are still looking for the female lead, but the movie is happening. Kartik is busy on other projects and Anurag is also working on Metro Inn Dino. But work on Aashiki 3 It hasn’t stopped. The film will be released in November 2023.”
This is definitely good news for the fans, who are eagerly awaiting to see Kartik Aaryan take on the role of a complete ‘aashiq’. In the past, Aashiqui (1990) marked Rahul Roy as the quintessential romantic hero, followed by Aditya Roy Kapur (2013), who won hearts by playing the role of singers with unconditional love for their partner.
Aashiki 3 was announced to much fanfare in September 2022 along with the moving poster, accompanied by the haunting melody of ‘Ab Tere Bin’ (aashiqui).
