In recent reports, lawyers Adnan Shaikh and Drishti Khurana have alleged that the couple is no longer married. Presenting evidence to support their argument, the lawyers clarified in their statement that they filed divorce papers for Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya Siddiqui, also known as Zainab. Following this, the court dismissed two grounds. In their statement, the lawyers also alleged how the marriage papers were filed with the court, but the divorce papers were hidden.
Speaking of Aaliya Siddiqui, after claiming that she and her children were being tortured by Nawaz’s parents at their home, she took to social media to post videos of security guards at her residence. In the video, Aaliya, also known as Zainab, shared how these guards denied her access to basic places like the bathroom and toilet, as she and her children were supposedly only allowed to use the living room.
Regarding the case, Aaliya had registered the case at the Versova Police Station against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family by filing an FIR against them under IPC sections 498A, 509 and others on the grounds of dowry harassment and protection of women’s rights. This came after Aaliya was allegedly accused of trespassing by Siddqui’s family.
