Starring in the lead of Allu Arjun Pushpa: The Rise seems to have done wonders for Rashmika Mandanna. The pan-Indian Telugu film has already ensured that she too has become a sensation among Bollywood makers. After starring in a few Hindi movies and signing on for a few more, she has now bagged an action comedy alongside Shahid Kapooor, according to a report in Peeping Moon. The report also stated that the film will be directed by comedy veteran Anees Bazmee and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Dil Raju.

Sharing more about the said project, a source told the publication: “Rashmika was the ideal choice from the start. Both Ekta Kapoor and Dil Raju have worked with her on Bye and varisu respectively and they believe that it fits naturally with the peculiar character of the heroine of this film. Furthermore, Shahid and Rashmika make a fresh and captivating couple on screen, generating more excitement among the audience.”
Interestingly, the report also revealed that Shahid will be seen in a dual role. This will also be his first comedy actor after a decade since Prabhu Dheva R…Rajkukar released in 2013. The as-yet-untitled Bazmee film is said to be a film with a quirky story and plenty of action with a supporting cast.
As far as Hindi movies go, Rashmika has Sandeep’s highly anticipated Reddy Vanga. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead along with Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. There are also reports about the signature of the historical actress of Dinesh Vijan Chhavawhere it is said that he acts alongside Vicky Kaushal.
Shahid, on the other hand, has quite a few projects lined up, including Ali Abbas Zafar’s. damn daddy. The film is scheduled to open at Jio Cinema on June 9.
