One of the greatest directors of this generation in India, Siddharth Anand, has made history with this film. Siddharth, in an interview talked about Shah Rukh Khan’s lack of religious affiliation in the film. He revealed that a deleted scene about the character may appear in the OTT release.
Siddharth Anand Claims Pathaan’s Deleted Scene Could Feature In OTT Version
In a conversation with Galatta Plus, Siddharth talked about the Pathaan religion. He said, “It is the synergy that Abbas, Sridhar, Adi and I, it is the four of us, not the three of us. The four of us have the same belief system and the same movies that we have graced and grown up and believed in and the cinema that we believe in. We share that, we share the same feeling. So the fact that it doesn’t have a name, and it’s in a theater that was actually called Navrang, which was edited out, which you could see in the OTT version.”
“None of us put it down, none of us say this is cheesy. We all came in with, ‘Oh, that’s a great idea and then it became pathan that’s why and now he has no religion, he only has his country that he cares about’. It is the synergy of like-minded people giving each other confidence,” added Siddharth.
pathan, a spy action movie, stars Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The film was released worldwide on January 25 and has had an explosive ride at the box office as it recently crossed Rs. 1040.25 crores worldwide. It will make its OTT debut on April 25, 2023.
