Latest reports reveal that Virat Kohli will now own a new restaurant in Mumbai, and he will be related to legendary actor and musician Kishore Kumar. The former captain of the Indian cricket team is said to have rented a part of Kishore Kumar’s Gouri Kunj bungalow for his new restaurant. With this deal, he hopes to start a branch of his popular One8 Commune restaurant chain in Mumbai.

According to the Etimes report, Virat Kohli met with Kishore Kumar and Leena Chandavarkar’s son, Sumit Kumar, a few months ago, where the discussion is said to have taken place. The news was further confirmed by Amit Kumar in this report adding, “We have leased the space from Virat for five years.” Said bungalow is located in the prime location of Juhu. These reports also suggest that while the entire bungalow is huge, only part of it has been rented out. From what we hear, the space is already undergoing extensive renovations, and if these reports are to be believed, the launch party is expected to take place around the next month.
One8 Commune’s official Instagram page also confirmed the restaurant chain’s opening in Juhu, Mumbai, along with an “Opening soon” hashtag. While the restaurant chain has already launched in Maharashtra with one in Pune, this will be the first for Mumbai. We wonder if this will become another celebrity hangout too!
On the work front, Virat Kohli recently made headlines for her praiseworthy performance in the match against Hong Kong at the 2022 Asian Cup. Coming to her actress and wife Anushka Sharma, she is busy with the schedule of ChakdaXpress, which is curiously a biopic based on a female cricketer, Jhulan Goswami. The film is expected to stream on Netflix.
