Jio Studios is one of the biggest banners in the Indian film industry. He started his journey with Street (2018), starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, and in five years it has produced several memorable films across all languages and genres. Tomorrow i.e. April 12, Jio Studios has hosted a big event at a convention center in Mumbai and various media outlets have been invited. The invitation does not specify what the event is about, but assures guests that it will be “a night of celebration and surprises.”

A source told us, “It will be more similar to the events Amazon Prime Video and Netflix did last year when they announced their lineup of movies and shows. Jio Studios has several projects in its kitty. They are expected to make a formal announcement of these movies and web series. As for the films that have already been announced, their preview will be shown and even their release dates will be announced.”
The source continued, “One film that is expected to be mentioned is Shahid Kapoor’s film with Ali Abbas Zafar. It has been tentatively titled damn daddy. At the event, its final title is said to be revealed for the first time along with its release date. It is expected to come out directly in digital format. So, The Immortal Ashwatthama, which is now backed by Jio, is expected to be formally announced, hopefully complete with its stellar cast. Finally, a preview or first look at the horror films of Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik as Shraddha Kapoor -starring street 2 and Sharvari Wagh munjha it could also be shown to the media at the event.”
Meanwhile, a few more films that could be part of the slate are Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon’s untitled Dinesh Vijan-backed Radhika Madan-starrer kacchey limbu and Paresh Rawal, protagonist The storytellerDirected by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan.
The source added, “The all-star cast from each of these movies could also take the stage to announce their respective movies. Also, let’s not forget that Jio Studios has also endorsed dunky, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Jio, however, is just a launch partner. Finally, bollywood hungama was the first to report that Hrithik Roshan-Saif Ali Khan’s leading man Vikram Veda (2022) and starring Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon Bhediya (2022) will launch on the Jio Cinema app and its OTT release dates will be announced at a big event. The source added, “There is a possibility that tomorrow these two movies and their release dates will also be discussed on the Jio app.” If reports are to be believed, while Vikram Veda will be released on Jio Cinema on May 8, Bhediya It will premiere on April 21.
