From being a simple guy from Amravati to now a popular reality TV star, Shiv Thakare has been slowly but steadily making his way into the world of the Indian entertainment industry. But the former Bigg Boss contestant has definitely faced his fair share of struggles and Thakare recently opened up about couch casting experiences, which has been a major challenge in this industry. He recalled a meeting with a casting director, where he was taken to a ‘massage center’.
Shiv Thakare Opens Up About A Casting Couch Experience Where He Was Taken To A ‘Massage Parlor’
In the past, many celebrities have opened up about #MeToo and couch casting experiences, which according to many, is quite common in the industry. Revealing about one such incident, Shiv Thakare said that he was once invited to a “massage center” by the casting director after auditioning for him. The reality show star recalled the experience in a Hindustan Times report, saying: “I once went to an audition at Aram Nagar, he took me to the bathroom and said, ‘Yaha pe hai massage parlor’. I didn’t get the connection. between an audition and a massage parlor. He told me, ‘Ek baar aap aao yaha audition ke baad. Aap training bhi karte ho…’ I just left the place, since he was a casting director and I didn’t want to take any pangas I am not Salman Khan.”
On top of that, he also recalled another incident where a woman invited him to audition for a role at 11pm. Although he didn’t really like how it sounded and refused to meet her at an odd time, he revealed in the interview, “Itna bhola toh nahi hoon main ki (I’m not that naive) I won’t understand what auditions happen at night. So, I told her I have a job and I can’t do it. To this, she said, ‘Kaam Nahi karna? (Don’t you want to work?)’ ‘You won’t get a job in the industry’ and the like.” She then added how these people would “demotivate” and “manipulate” the wrestlers to get what they want.
To the inexperienced, Shiv Thakare gained fame as the Bigg Boss Marathi winner and also managed to win several hearts by becoming one of the Bigg Boss 16 (Hindi) runner-up. The star of the reality show is also expected to have bagged the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, but there has been no official update on the same.
