Sonu Nigam’s father, Agamkumar Nigam, filed a FIR (First Information Report) against his former driver for allegedly stealing Rs. 72 lakh from his residence in Mumbai. The singer’s father lives in the Windsor Grand building in Oshiwara, West Andheri. The alleged robbery took place between March 19 and 20.

The FIR was registered by Sonu Nigam’s sister, Nikita, who arrived at the Oshiwara police station in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to the complaint, Agamkumar Nigam has had a driver named Rehan for 8 months, but he was fired from his job after his performance was unsatisfactory, an official said.

According to a PTI report, an official said that Agamkumar visited Nikita’s house in the Versova area on March 19 for lunch. He returned to her residence after some time. He called her daughter at night to inform her that “Rs 40 lakh was missing from a digital locker kept in a wooden cabinet.”

Agamkumar Nigam visited his son’s house the next day at 7 Bungalows for visa related work. He returned home later that night to find out Rs. 32 lakh was missing from the locker and he was not damaged. According to the report, the official added: “Agamkumar and Nikita reviewed their partnership’s CCTV footage which showed their former driver Rehan going to his apartment with a bag on the two days he was away. Agamkumar suspects that Rehan entered his apartment with the help of a duplicate key and stole Rs. 72 lakh from the digital locker in the dormitory.”

An FIR has been filed under sections 380, 454 and 457 of the Indian Penal Code for robbery and trespassing. The investigation is ongoing.
