The wife of the late producer and director Yash Chopra, Pamela Chopra, who was a writer and singer, has passed away at the age of 74. The news was reported on April 20, 2023. She was reportedly admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital in the past. She 15 days and she passed away due to age related diseases.

YRF issued an official statement on Thursday which read: “It is with a heavy heart that the Chopra family wishes to inform that Pamela Chopra, aged 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place today at 11am in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and The family would like to request privacy at this time of deep sadness and reflection.”
Pamela Chopra worked as a singer, costume designer, and writer and was credited as a co-producer on many Yash Raj Films productions. She was credited as the writer of kabhie kabhie and costume designer Silsila and Sawaal. She sang several songs for movies like Kabhie Kabhie, Noorie, Kaala Patthar, Chandni, Silsila, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, among others. Chopra was last seen in the YRF documentary series the Romantics to celebrate 50 years of the studio. He talked about his journey, Yash Chopra’s enduring career and how Aditya Chopra carried on the legacy.
In addition to her career in film production and philanthropy, Pamela Chopra is the author of a book titled ‘Romancing with Life: An Autobiography’, which was published in 2014. The book provides information about her life, her relationship with her husband Yash Chopra and his experiences in the Indian film industry.
Pamela Chopra is survived by her two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.
